Celebrating 150th Anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada

We were honoured to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Supreme Court of Canada during their unique visit to Victoria, British Columbia. This enduring institution has helped shape our democracy with its decisions on important issues affecting all of us. In his remarks, Chief Justice Richard Wagner explained how trust and confidence in this Court is necessary for its function, in upholding the rule of law, and maintaining its independence. Joining us at the celebration were many judges and esteemed colleagues, and the evening was full of learning and collegiality.
